IT'S A BOY!

We are having a little boy and naming him Oliver Lee!  We are very excited and Penelope still has no idea.  Right now he is 10 ounces and about 6 inches long.  I still can't really feel him :(  Maybe a little, but definitely not from the outside.  Something about the placenta being on the front of my stomach, so it makes it harder to feel him moving early on.  He is still little though. He is measuring at 19 weeks and 3 days.  Exactly how far along I am with a heartbeat of 152.  Planning on doing a elephant nursery with grey and blue.  Haven't decided on the shade of blue yet.

How far along? 19 weeks and 3 days
Maternity clothes? My maternity jeans are too big in the thighs and my belly can't hold up the panel so just wearing larger jeans that were my transition jeans after I had Penelope.  I have been wearing a few maternity shirts.
Sleep: Awful!  With this sciatic nerve pain on my left side, my hips and pelvic kills me.  When I wake up, I can barely move and feel like if I do, my bones will snap.  Sometimes my hip pops and that does not feel good.  My doctor said if it doesn't get better, I can do physical therapy.
Best moment this week: Finding out we are having a boy!
Miss Anything?  Sleeping on my back and energy.
Movement: some wiggling
Food cravings: Cold ham and cheese sandwiches
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Have you started to show yet: Yes
Gender: baby boy
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? far out!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: normal, happy
Looking forward to: moving into a new house to start on the nursery and start buying baby boy clothes!

New Years Resolution for 2014

I have been thinking had this year about what I want resolution to be.  Last year it was to lose my baby weight.  If I do the same one again, I won't be able to start until August.

I made one for Penelope to give up the bottle.  She was really over it already but I would still give her one for some extra cuddling time.  They were all packed up and stored on January 1 and I don't know if she has noticed yet.  I think I was the one that needed weaned, not her.

I noticed a lot of my Facebook and Blogger friends resolutions are something similar to "slow down and enjoy each moment."  Well, I don't think I could slow down anymore.  I think I need to speed up.  But it is hard to do with this awful weather.  Today is about 4 degrees.  I need to get Penelope involved in more things outside of the house.  I need to take her to play dates, swimming, more trips to the zoo.  Especially before baby number two makes his or her arrival and little things become twice as difficult.

If I had to make a resolution for myself it would also be to get more involved with things and make more friends.  Before Penelope was born I was party of a Bible study with about 5 other girls.  As is the military life, all but one have moved away.  I was way more social then.  I think I also blame not being social on having a baby.  "I can't take Penelope there...."  I still kind of feel that way.  I don't like dropping her off with a sitter and would rather take her with us.  And I am a homebody.  Even though I keep hoping that we will only be at this base for 1 or 2 more years.  That's still a long time if you only have 1 or 2 friends here.  So I need to meet more people and get involved with things that Penelope can too.

Farwell 2013

Time for my annual year in review.

JANUARY
Josh went TDY overseas for 5 weeks.  And was in 3 different tropical locations.  He had a lot of fun but it was a pain to keep in touch with him.  In the mean time, my mom and dad drove out to Missouri one weekend before he left, picked me up and took me back to Ohio with them.  It was Penelope's first roadtrip and she did not like it, especially after 8 hours. And the last 3 were awful.  It took a total of 13 hours.  From now on, we make it a two day trip.  She met most of Daddy's side of the family for the first time.

FEBRUARY
We were still in Ohio until the end of February when Josh drove by himself to pick us up and visit for a week.  I spend most of my time trying to get back in shape and lost 10 pounds that month.  Penelope also learned to roll over from back to tummy.  And I went blonde.

MARCH
I went back to working weekends at the golf course.  We celebrated St. Patrick's Day and Easter.

APRIL
We had to move to a new house because they all needed renovated.  So we got a newly renovated house with a basically new kitchen.  Also new fluffy carpet that wasn't white.  My mom and dad came to help us.  Baseball season started and Penelope was learning to crawl.

MAY
We celebrated our 4th anniversary. My sister flew out to visit and celebrated her 20th birthday.  And I celebrated my first Mother's Day.  Josh got me opals, which is Penelope's birthstone.  The clasp on the necklace broke, so I took it back but they didn't have any more necklaces so I got the matching opal ring.

JUNE
Josh's first Father's Day and I got really into running (for a few weeks).  I had Josh's Rambler shipped from Ohio because it's been at his dad's house ever since he got it, 4 years ago.  We went to the zoo and picked a rainy day.  Josh re-enlisted in the Air Force for 5 more years at an Independence Day parade (in June, I know).  My mom, dad and sister came to visit and stayed through the first week in July.

Josh's Father's Day gift to us thanking us for a nice Father's Day

JULY
We had a huge 4th of July party at our house.  We took Penelope to the pool for the first time.  There was an area for children and she loved it.  I turned 24 and Josh turned 25.

AUGUST
I traded my beloved broken Cherokee for a Jeep Commander and cried on the way home.  At 10 months old, Penelope learned to walk.  My mom came to visit by herself and we went to the Missouri State Fair.  I decided I couldn't keep up with the blonde so went back to my roots.

SEPTEMBER
Josh and I had a rare afternoon date a few days before he took a "business trip" to Texas for 2 weeks.  Penelope and I hung out at the house most of the time.  When Josh got back, we attended the Air Force Ball.  Was also my last day of work at the golf course for the season.

OCTOBER
Lots!  We drove to Ohio.  Penelope and I were in my best friend's wedding.  I ended up walking her down the aisle.  Penelope was baptized then we celebrated her first birthday with a big party! On her birthday we went with Auntie Shala to a kid activity center place then to the carrousel.  We took family pictures with Josh's mom and when we got back to Missouri Penelope had another small party.  I found out I was pregnant and Penelope was a piggy for Halloween.

NOVEMBER
I think the only think that happened this month was Thanksgiving.  We went over to a friend's house. November was a welcomed break after crazy October.

DECEMBER
I announced to everyone that we would be having another baby in June 2014!  Was a busy month getting ready for Christmas. Penelope mostly sat through the entire Christmas Eve service. Thank goodness it was only 45 minutes.  My mom, dad and sister came to visit right after Christmas. They are actually on the road back to Ohio right now.  Most of my Christmas pictures are still on my camera.  I haven't uploaded any yet.

I don't think 2013 flew by like a lot of people have said.  To me, it's been the longest year of my life and that's ok because it's the first whole year I've spent with my daughter.  Can't wait to meet my next baby in June.  Hope 2014 will be just as exciting as 2013!
