32 weeks 2 days

8 months now!  and only 8 weeks to go.  Can't really believe that.  I just keep thinking that she can really come anytime after 37 weeks. So that would mean only 5 weeks.  I'm kinda freaking out that she will be here so soon.  Josh is totally not worried.  I've asked him if he is nervous or worried and he's just like, nope.  I'm like, but our life is about to completely change and we don't really know what to expect! He's fine with it.  At least one of us is.  Can't have us both freaking out.

Now I have labor on my mind.  Things to pack in a hospital bag and having a natural birth.  I don't want any pain medication.  I say that now but I've never experienced anything close to labor before so I guess I'm still open to the idea.  I just don't like that I won't be able to stand up afterwards and some women have bad side-effects from it.  I'm really going to try not to take anything though.

Josh put up one shelf last night and has one more to put up tonight.  Have to put handles on the dresser still.  But other than that... the nursery is pretty much ready.  Have to bring Josh's rocking chair back from Ohio and just have to fill it with baby shower things.  Did I mention that Josh is having a Diapers and Beer party while I have my baby shower?  Jut hoping that everyone doesn't get us newborn diapers because we have already stocked up on those and I know they grow out of them quickly.  But I'm still excited.  Other things on my before baby check list are: Make appt with WIC and see about getting a chair reupholstered.  And clean the stroller that someone gave us.

Two weeks ago I had a doctors appt and was kind of scolded for my weight gain.  I blame it on Josh being gone so I didn't cook as much.  Still doing the workouts though.  But at my doctors appt yesterday, she said I only gained 4 oz!  I was really excited about that because I was feeling really down after the last appt.  I did change my eating habits so I thought if I went and still gained a lot of weight, I was basically just going to give up because I tried and it didn't help.  But it did.  I'm honestly not too worried about weight gain.  I mean, a little; I don't want to look like a cow.  But I think it will be a lot easier to get rid of the weight after baby than while I'm pregnant.

So we leave for Ohio in a day and a half!  Haven't been home since Thanksgiving.  Not looking forward to the 11 hour drive though.  I hope Josh doesn't get too annoyed when I ask to stop constantly to use the restroom and stretch.  We are also going to Chicago in 10 days for our first Bruce Sprinsteen concert!  We have been wanting to see him for at least 3 years but haven't been able to since we were overseas and he didn't tour last year.   My mom has a large chalkboard in her basement so I will still be updating each week while we're home!

31 weeks 2 days

Had our 3D/4D ultrasound yesterday!  Penelope was being pretty stubborn at first.  She just kept showing us the back of her head. Which is covered in hair! =] She also reassured us that she is still a girl which was comforting, lol.  I was told to drink something to get her moving before the ultrasound so I drank some Mt. Dew but she didn't care.  She wasn't too wiggly.  I went to the bathroom and shook her up some and she did move.  The pictures we got of her face were profile shots.  She wouldn't look at us straight on so the technician said she could reschedule me to come back with no charge.  So I'm going back on Thursday and hopefully she will let me see her whole face.  Not sure if Josh is going or not since work for him is about to get busy. She is also head down, so that's good news.  She kept sticking her tongue out at us like, 'Haha, I'm not showing you the other side of my face no matter how much you poke me!' Silly baby.

30 weeks 2 days

10 weeks to go!  I really feel like the time is about to fly by.  But I still feel like I have a while to go.  So my sister has been here the last few days.  We hung up a few frames in the nursery and got her pom poms hung up.  I mostly like how it turned out but I'm just being picky.  It's cute.  Since the room is smaller than I thought, the crib is in the corner so this is a perfect way to dress it up.  It seems most cribs are centered against a main wall with something on the wall over it.  We also tried to hang up shelves but I didn't know where all of Josh's tools were and I was getting frustrated so we will leave that little project for husband when he gets back.  At least I tried, right?

My invitations from my Missouri baby shower arrived this week.  It is bumble bee themed.  Super cute and super excited!  My car seat also got here.  My mom bought it for us and it was way easier to have it shipped to my house because it's in a really big box.  I haven't opened it to look at it yet because I'm afraid it will get covered in dog hair.  It fits 5-40 pounds or something.  I also have one of the carriers for an infant that can be a carseat but I don't have a base for it yet.

Ok, well I'm off to the post office and my 30 week check up then driving to Kansas City to drop my sister off at the airport.  Not looking forward to the long drive back by myself.   =/

29 weeks 1 day

She is about 3 pounds now.  She is moving so much.  It's kind of a weird feeling.  She's getting powerful.  I ask her sometimes, "What in the world are you doing in there?" She hangs out on the left side and likes to poke my belly button from the inside. haha.  I think it's funny since Josh always pokes my belly button too.

I work at a golf course where I deal with mostly men all day.  Women know that you don't say to a pregnant woman, "you're so big!"  You ask them when they are due then you can silently judge them based on their size.  That is more polite. haha.  In the last week I have heard from male customers, "You look like you're about to pop!" and "You due any day now?"  and today it was "How many days do you have left?"  I said, I don't know.... 80?  and he's like, really!?  I'm just tired of people telling my how big I am.  First off, I am 7 months pregnant, so I should be big but I do not look 9 or 10 months pregnant.  Pregnancy has actually lowered my self esteem, so it doesn't help when someone, especially a stranger, tells you how big you look.   Work is stressful too and I know stress isn't good for my growing lady so I'm debating when I want to stop working to relax until she gets here.  I'm thinking mid September or beginning of October.

I'm also kind of a private person.  I know that may sound weird since I have a blog on the internet, but mostly family and friends back home read this to stay updated since we are so far away.  Anyways, I don't feel like sharing personal information with people just because I'm growing a baby.  I don't even like to answer the question, "How are you feeling?" unless my mom or husband is asking.  I guess it's just not something I feel like discussing with someone.  I'll give someone the opportunity to read about it on here, but I don't want to just talk about how huge my feet are or that my pelvic bone hurts.  Someone asked me recently if this was a planned pregnancy. I know they don't mean any harm, but half of the time I want to be like, "none of your business!"  But that all comes with being pregnant I guess.  I think what bothers me the most is that a pregnant belly is the first thing people notice about me so that's all I ever talk about to people and it gets old.  There are lots of other things going on in my life that I would like to talk about besides being pregnant.  Does that make me sound awful?

So my baby showers are getting close!  My mom mailed out my invites about a week ago and my friend just ordered the invites for my shower in Missouri.  Turns out they are both doing the "bring a book, not a card" thing, so Penelope will have a nice size library. =]  Can't wait! Can't wait!

My sister will be here in 4 days so I will have someone to keep me company and she will be helping my hang up shelves in the nursery.  I hope we do it right and don't have to have Josh fix it when he comes home.  I told her to study how to put up shelves, haha.

When Josh comes home we are getting a 3D/4D ultrasound! It's will be 14 weeks between ultrasounds and that's long enough. It will be my 4th and final ultrasound and she has changed so much at each one.  6 weeks, 12 weeks, 18 weeks and now 32 weeks. This one will probably be the biggest difference though.  Can't wait to see her again!
